Founded in January 2026, Sounds of East Texas is a Texas-based music and entertainment platform rooted in Tyler, Texas and built to celebrate all genres, connect and create opportunities for the people who make Texas music unforgettable. More than an awards program, Sounds of East Texas brings together artists, songwriters, bands, venues, music professionals, businesses and music fans through awards, live events, showcases, partnerships and year-round experiences. While our reach spans the entire state and every genre of music, East Texas is our home and our special spotlight, bringing the sounds and stories of Texas back to Tyler.

Our inaugural awards ceremony will take place in the fall of 2027, following nominations that will open in late 2026. The awards will recognize excellence across a variety of genres and categories, honoring the artists, creators, venues and industry professionals whose contributions continue to shape Texas music.
